It was a bright sunshiny day so we decided to grab a sandwich and drive to Lewes and have lunch on the beach to get our sun and surf fix. So ordered a Veggie sub from Harper’s Sandwiches and Such. Located at 4390 Summit Bridge Rd Middletown. This sandwich shop is the best kept secret in Middletown, always fresh and a great value. So we picked up the Sub and headed south on Route 13 and made one stop in Smyrna, to check out a shop where we have an appointment next week for hair cuts, will let you know how that works out next week. Nice drive to Lewis, still a little chilly to sit and eat on the beach so we parked facing the beach and had lunch watching two little boys trying to fly kites. After lunch a pleasant but windy walk along the beach. Next a stop on second street at Edie Bees Confection Shop for desert, giant chocolate peanut butter cup and a dark chocolate cashews treat, both were excellent. (saved half of each one for after dinner) Next stop was Lewes Fish House and seafood Market located on south costal Highway just south of the Bus Stop and Lowes. We always take time to stop here when we go anywhere near Lewes. Today we purchased some swordfish steaks, Shrimp, and Steamers. Cooked the steamers and Shrimp for dinner, and froze the swordfish for later. So a great way for a quick get away with low risk during the pandemic.
